“Preventive health technology, key to a longer and healthier life”

Healthlane’s Managing Director, Mr. Alain Nteff, advocated the use of preventative health technologies to live longer and healthier lives.

Nteff, at the unveiling of her Healthlane app and facility in Lagos, said comprehensive wellness monitoring and personalized care plans make it easier to understand, track and improve her health.

He said: “With the Healthlane app, users can book comprehensive exams, view medical test results and records, view health scores and get a comprehensive care plan regarding nutrition, exercise, sleep and supplements.

“Our mission is to simplify the way people understand, track and improve their health; leading to longer, healthier lives and reducing reliance on an overburdened primary health care system.

“Unfortunately, health care has been confused with caring for the sick. The former is seeing a doctor after feeling sick and experiencing symptoms, while the latter is about nutrition, exercise, supplements, lifestyle, and checkups. Healthlane’s goal is to prevent people from getting sick and enable them to live longer, healthier lives.

The expert added that the COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated digitization in the healthcare sector.

“Nowadays people are now comfortable accessing their medical records on their smart phones. They are more concerned about preventing themselves from falling prey to certain diseases. We all know that if you are diabetic or hypertensive, you are more affected if you contract COVID-19 compared to someone who is relatively healthy. There is a growing trend to deploy services through technology and that is where we are positioned.”

“As a customer-centric brand, the Healthlane experience is convenient and seamless. With professional doctors, results are fully explained to customers while a personalized care plan is immediately available on the Healthlane app. This ensures that by the time clients leave the facility, they have a good understanding of their condition and what they need to do to improve it,” Nteff said.
