Kashmir-centric healthcare app RAHeNOOR launched in Srinagar
Srinagar, July 25: In a bid to strengthen the connection between doctors and patients, a group of professional doctors in the valley on Sunday launched the RAHeNoor mobile app aimed at giving a patient a sense of knowing their real doctor.
The function held at Golden Tulip Hotel, Hyderpora in the outskirts of Srinagar city was attended by Door Director Darshan Srinagar Qazi Salman, former DDK Director Dr.RafeeqMasoodi, experts from health and media personnel.
Welcoming the participants, Dr. Adil Majeed Mir, Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, SAG Hospital, presented in detail the RAHeNOOR application. Calling it a “humble start” to a great start, he said the app was meant to create a local connection between doctors and patients. He said that unlike other parts of the globe, we have so far lacked this type of service to deal with people’s miseries and difficulties.
“At some point, a patient doesn’t know their doctor. Thanks to RAHeNOOR, this problem must be solved and the patient can easily find his doctor without traveling here and there,” said Dr. Adil.
He said that through this app, we have provided leading health experts in the valley with a platform to think about a great project. “When doctors come together on a platform, it is possible that they can think of realizing a big dream,” he said and added, “Working on small projects can lead us to a multi-hospital -specialties in the valley”.
He hopes every segment of society will benefit from this platform.
Dr. Suhail Khuroo, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, called the app a “comprehensive” health service under one roof.
He said the basic idea of launching this app is to ensure patients have hassle-free healthcare facilities and added that the organizers are planning to start door-to-door medicine delivery.
Dr. NaeemFirdous, MBBS, DNB (Pulmonary Medicine) and Lead for this initiative, while addressing the event, said that RAHeNOOR – Path to Enlightenment, is a vision to provide trusted medical facilities and care to people. He said the service will soon be a way to bring hassle-free quality and affordable healthcare to people living in all neighborhoods of the Valley.
“The facility will bring a comprehensive door-to-door healthcare solution including online audio/video consultation, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and ambulance service under one roof to provide integrated services to nominal prices,” said Dr Naeem.
He further said that bringing quality and advanced healthcare to the people of Kashmir is our main concern and we aim to strive to reach the needy people in the valley.
He further added that their goal is to unite the sons of the health system with the centers and professionals available locally.
Several health professionals in adult and pediatric rheumatology and pain management, anesthesia and intensive care, cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery (CTVS), clinical psychology, dental surgery, dermatology, dietetics, endocrinology and metabolism, ENT/HNS, gastroenterology , General/Colorectal/GI Laparoscopic Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Interventional Radiology, Internal Medicine, Interventional Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation, Neurology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Pulmonology and Critical Care medical, psychiatry, surgical gastroenterology and minimal access Surgery, surgical oncology and urology were involved in the initiative.
RAHeNOOR app is readily available and can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
Among those who also spoke on the occasion were former DDK Srinagar director Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi and senior ENT consultant Dr. QaziImtiyaz who praised the medical professionals for undertaking this endeavor. Speakers emphasized the need for transparency and accountability to advance the mission of serving humanity.
